Mealeez has one of the most powerful shopping experience for food-allergy sufferers in the UK & US, with our huge groceries area that allows you to find safe products and compare prices across multiple stores. And the best part is we've made it as simple as possible for you to use.
Getting Started
The first thing to note is that the initial view you see when heading to the Groceries area is for any saved grocery items you have. This is of particular importance because if any product ingredients change, we want to warn you if anything becomes unsuitable.
Searching For Groceries
To conduct a search, type in your query in the search bar at the top of the screen. Mealeez checks your query against product names and brand names held in our database. It'll then check each item for ingredients in your food allergy profile, returning results that are marked "safe" or "caution". PLUS subscribers also have the ability to fine-tune the results using the Filter option at the top right.
Viewing Grocery Items
Tapping a grocery item will bring up its details, where you can see further information such as ingredients (if there are any allergies, they will be marked in red (severe) or amber (caution) depending on your allergy profile) and the ability to bookmark the item. You'll also see a list of stores the item is available in and the current price information we have for it. You can then tap the "VISIT" button to be taken directly to that grocery items product page.

How is this different to other price comparison websites?
There are two fundamental differences between Mealeez and other popular price comparison websites. The first is that other price comparison sites are just that. They are focussing on finding you the best price. The other difference is that Mealeez only lists food items - and more importantly - it only shows food items that are suitable to eat!
Why no real product images?
Product images are not currently displayed due to copyright restrictions. We do not hold licenses to show them on the Mealeez website or the Android app. Instead, we have used AI to generate images to help you when navigating the grocers area.
Why do some searches take a long time?
Your food allergies and a products ingredients may change at any time, so Mealeez always conducts a "fresh" search when checking grocery items. That means it checks every single ingredient before determining if an item is suitable or not, before showing results. For quicker searches, try being more specific in what you are looking for. For example, searching for "vegan" will return all suitable vegan results, but searching for "vegan sausages" will be quicker as there are already less results to check your allergies against.
